FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT, IMPERIAL HOTEL, TOKYO, OAK PEACOCK CHAIR, YELLOW OIL CLOTH UPHOLSTERY, 1921 - 22:Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Peacock Chair, with its complicated and concentrated ornamentation, for the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, which was built between 1915 and 1922. Having a hexagonal back, with yellow oil cloth upholstery about back and seat. Ex. Coll. Mr. and Mrs. Howard F. Van Zandt - letter on underside of chair from Ichiro Inumaru, Imperial Hotel, dated "Nov. 1967" giving the chair to Mr. and Mrs. Van Zandt.
