James Reid Lambdin(American, 1807-1889) , oil on canvas portrait of artist Russell Smith (1812-1896), signed lower left "JRL 1838", inscribed verso "Russell Smith Landscape Painter Painted by J. R. Lambdin", 20" x 17". This painting was executed in the year of Smith's marriage to Mary Priscilla Wilson and descended in the Smith family until purchased by the present owner in the early 1990's.
