American School, late 19th/ early 20th century. "The Fisherman", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Landscape painting, possibly a Hudson River School work, depicting a wide vista with meandering river to center at which a lone fisherman is holding his reel, with purple mountains in distance along horizon line and a small grouping of tall trees to right of center in foreground set within green and brown grassy brush. Framed approximately 17.5" x 23.25", unframed approximately 12.25" x 18.25".
