1950s Ying Tai Co. Floor Length Black Silk Robe

Ying Tai Company (Chinese, 20th century), circa 1950s. A stunning floor length silk satin floor length robe with a black ground decorated with metallic gold bats, cloud scrolls, bi discs, and Chinese auspicious symbols, the robe or dress with reinforced and heavily ribbed bands to cuffs, collar, placket, and pocket openings, with raised floral motif adorned button loops opposing knot buttons, with matching sash belt, overall lined in yellow silk. Label to interior neck "Ying Tai Co. Hong Kong, China" and a second label indicating size 42. Width across shoulders approximately 18.5", length back of collar to hem approximately 60".
