Italian, Circa 1890 - 1910. Monumental Italian walnut with marquetry inlaid and bronze mounted mirrored commode or chest of drawers, the rectangular beveled mirror-back inset with continuous foliate and floral bronze banding and flanked to each side with electrified glass covered sconces over inset bronze putti plaques, the case mounted with three pieces of black and white veined marble and a beveled glass covered compartment or glove box to each end, over three long drawers, flanked to each side by projecting panels marquetry inlaid with turned pilasters, a long bowfront hinged door to each side, on block feet. Plaque mounted to top side of chest "Casa Moderna Genova". Height 82.5", width 62.5", depth 25".
