Reading, Pennsylvania Chippendale mahogany tall case clock, late 18th c. , the broken arch bonnet with dentil molded cornice and frieze with applied carving, enclosing an 8-day works, signed "Daniel Rose Reading", above a case with fluted quarter columns and ogee bracket feet, 98" h. An early note affixed to the interior discusses the clock's descent in the Lybrande? family and its purchase by John Morris at Public Sale, November 11, 1870. A plaque on the reverse of the door reads "Maurice Bower Saul from Lydia Thompson Morris 1925".
