AMERICAN ANTIQUE NEEDLEWORK BY ISABELLA SCOTT, 1854, 29" X 27 1/2":Beautifully and intricately done needlework contains images of floral sprays, little birds and a large dog reclining below an Isaac Watts quote, "Let dogs delight to bark and bite For God hath made them so Let bears and lions growl and fight For tis their nature too But children you should never let Such angry passions rise Your little hands were never made To tear each others eyes"; signed and dated "Isabella Scoot 1854". The work is housed within a gorgeous period wood frame.
