J. Kurz & Co. (Germany/ Hanau, 1848-c.1961). A pair of sterling silver pheasant sculptures with figures standing with tail erect, head held high looking forward, and left foot slightly in front of right. Wings are on hinges at back of bird and can be raised and lowered. Maker's mark on top of tail feather of one bird with letters J and K surrounding a bird symbol, along with two other indistinguishable stamps, likely city and export marks. Approximately 7" tall x 15" long. Total weight approximately 27.1 troy ounces.
