Attributed to Richard Wilson (English, 1713-1782). "The Castle Ruins", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting depicts various figures along with cows and a dog in a valley looking up at ancient ruins, with a column decorated in figural relief in the near left foreground, a castle rising up behind the ruin walls, and an aqueduct in the distance on the right. Framed 17 3/8" x 24 1/4", unframed 12 3/4" x 19 1/4".
