Chinese, Late 19th/Early 20th century, possibly earlier. Carved turquoise figural inkwell with gilt bronze and copper engraved floral stand and circular hinged lid topped with orange carved and pierced finial. Exterior of rounded inkwell with two figures at each side, one side with figure holding large lotus flower beside seated figure holding container with stylized smoke; opposite side with two male children holding shakers in celebration. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 4", diameter of base 3.5".
