GERMAN MODEL 1891, PICKELHAUBE HELMET, C1897:hard black leather helmet with brass spike on the crown with stamped brass eagle on front inscribed: 'Mit Gott Fur Koenig Und Vaterland' (with god for king and fatherland) and 'FR'; red disc (kokarde) signifying rank on right side identifies helmet as Reichs, post 1897. Kokarde on left side is a reproduction.
