Roosevelt, dated December 11, 1917 for a Navy Department endorsement of travel for Navy Cross recipient Lieut. (J.G.) E.A. Stone for travel to London, England and Paris, France for duty assignment in the U.S. Naval aviation forces as an aviator. Also signed by Force Commander of Naval Operations in European Waters, Vice Admiral W.S. Sims, U.S.N. along with signed papers by Lt. Stone and article depicting his earning the Navy Cross.
