Haverhill, Massachusetts silk on linen needlework sampler, inscribed "Haverhill August 29 Betsey Gage Plummer born AD 1782 this wrought in the 14th year of her age" with bands of alphabets, verse, and flowers, over a lawn with floral trees, vines, and birds, all within a colorful border surrounded by flowering vines worked in a variety of stitches in shades of green, red, tan, blue, and yellow, 19" x 15 1/2".
