AFRICAN YORUBA, IBEJI TWIN STATUES, 2 PCS H 11": From the Yoruba tribe, Nigeria. The figures have curved shoulders above protruding, pointed breasts. They are carrying bundles of cowry shells in both hands, and are decorated with bead hoop ornamentation at the waist. Their oval form faces display wide set eyes and noses, with the hair ending at a point. Both have linear scarification to the face.
