BRU JNE. & CIE., FRENCH BISQUE 'BEBE' DOLL, C. 1880, L 21":Bisque swivel head with cork pate, brown paperweight eyes, painted features, closed mouth, and pierced ears. French kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees. Jointed body with bisque lower arms and wood lower legs. Dark eyeliner, painted long lashes, widely arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips. Mark: stamped "Bru Jne/S" at the neck (see photo). Partial paper label at the body reads "Bebe Bru" (see photo).
