Jan Cornelius van der Heijden (Dutch, late 19th/ early 20th century). "Cows at Water's Edge", oil on canvas, signed lower right "J.C.V.D. Heijden". Painting depicts a grouping of three cows in the reeds at the bank of a calm lake or pond, with tall impressionistic trees in the left background through which can be seen an extension of the body of water, and a single windmill at center of composition on opposite bank of the lake. Framed approximately 27 5/8" x 35 1/5", unframed approximately 19 7/8" x 27 7/8"._x000D_
