CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK DRAGON ROBE, LATE 19TH C. , L 48":Eggplant purple ground with ornate silk and gilt thread five-claw dragons centering a flaming pearl, three at the front, three at the back, and one on each shoulder, all above a typical lishui, rainbow-like border. Four closures at one side and one at the shoulder. Measures 48" from shoulder to hem, W.41" arm-to-arm (lacking sleeves).
