English, second quarter 19th century. A William IV quadruple ladderback settee bench in stained wood, fashioned as four chairs, each with a slightly scrolled and curving crestrail over a paneled curved horizontal splat and slender curved rail united by a bobbin turned ornament over a inset caned seat panel between twin down swept scroll arms, raised on five turned baluster front legs on pegged feet and five raking back legs. Approximate height 35.25", width 70.5" (arm to arm), seat depth 21", seat height 18".
