Carr and Co. 1829. Octavo, 4 volumes. Bound in original leather, gilt titles to the spine. With four-page folding facsimile of Jefferson's manuscript of the Declaration of Independence, and engraved frontispiece portrait after Gilbert Stuart in Volumes I and IV. Volume I was written by Jefferson at age 77, and includes a journal kept by him while Secretary of State during Washington's administration. Additionally includes voluminous correspondence, ranging from 1775 to June 1826.
