Federal Cherry Tall Case Clock, Riley Whiting, Winchester, Connecticut, c. 1820, the hood with pierced fretwork joining reeded plinths topped by brass urn finials, above the arched molded cornice and glazed tombstone door opening to a painted and gilt decorated wooden dial, lettered "R. Whiting, Winchester," and thirty-hour weight-driven movement, flanked by brass mounted reeded columns, the molded waist door flanked by brass mounted quarter-engaged reeded columns continuing to the cove-molded base on cutout feet, old finish with painted simulated ebonized stringing centering a spreadwing eagle and American flag, (minor imperfections), ht. 92 3/4 in.
