Possibly Anson Dickinson (American, 1779-1852) Miniature Portrait of William Hull. Unsigned. The sitter's name inscribed on a piece of paper inserted in the case. Watercolor on ivory, c. 1810, bust-length portrait of a young man with curly brown hair and brown eyes wearing a black jacket, white shirt and stock, with a shaded cloud-like background, 2 5/8 x 2 1/8 in., in an oval copper case with a compartment on the reverse containing a lock of plaited brown hair. Condition: Very good.
