Federal Mahogany Carved and Inlaid Side Chair, Baltimore or Annapolis, Maryland, c. 1800, the modified shield-back with leaf carving in low relief on the crest and some components of the splat; the back posts and stay rail have beaded edges above the over-upholstered seat with a serpentine front rail is outlined in patterned inlay on square tapering legs with a carrot-shaped satinwood inlay continuing to satinwood cuff inlays banded on the front legs joined to the rear legs by plain stretchers, old refinish, (restorations to veneer), ht. 36, seat ht. 17 1/2 in.
