Assorted Continental Textile Group, including a European woven wool tapestry fragment/wall hanging depicting landscape with decorative border, backed by indigo-dyed cotton twill and another panel of green velvet, 106 x 64 in; an Asian embroidered panel with crane-like birds in a landscape, probably Japanese, with silk border and backing, approx. 75 x 54 in.; and a pair of brown velvet and woven drapes. Provenance: Belcourt Castle Collection, Newport, Rhode Island. Japanese wall hanging in good condition with some wear, losses to seams, European tapestry with extensive repair/ rework, holes, patches, pieced together from possibly more than one original, curtains, machine-woven brocade with wear, mostly to edges, discoloration to velvet.
