Alphonse Marie Mucha (Czechoslovakian, 1860-1939) Art Nouveau Four-panel Screen: Printemps, Ete, Automne and Hiver from Les Saisons , 1896 Inscribed "Mucha" within the matrices l. r. or l.l., Rennert/Weill 18. Chromolithographs, sight sizes 39 1/8 x 19 5/8 in., set within a marquetry wooden screen frame and jacquard tapestry backing, overall size 59 x 22 3/8 x 1 in. Condition: Chromolithographs with toning and minor surface abrasions, not examined out of screen frame. Note: The present suite is the largest size of five variations that Mucha created in this composition. Les Saisons , 1896 proved to be such a commercial success for Mucha and his Parisian printer F.
