Federal Mahogany and Satinwood Inlaid Tilt-top Candlestand, c. 1800, the oval top veneered with alternating rays centering a shell and edge with contrasting banding, tilts on a vase and ring-turned post continuing to a tripod base of tapering legs, refinished, (imperfections and repairs), ht. 29 1/2, wd. 21 3/4, dp. 15 in. one leg broken and repaired from underside with wood screws hidden by putty, the topside of same leg with small associated patch; some inlay missing from edge of top; refinish to top very shiny, with cracks to satinwood veneer.
