Artist Designed Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace, Irvin and Bonnie Burkee, the abstract designed pendant suspended from a trace link chain, lg. 18 in., signed. Note: The Burkees were sculptors and studio jewelers educated at the Art Institute of Chicago. While maintaining a producing jewelry studio, the Burkees were also active in architectural sculpture installations, some in mixed metals. Irvin Burkee was elected to the National Sculpture Society in 1992, and his work included commissions for institutions and private residences in Aspen, Colorado, where they lived. Their work has been displayed in various national exhibitions and collections, and is known for its fluid form and Constructivist elements.
