Philadelphia silk on linen needlework sampler , inscribed "Leah Ann Alsop her Work 1823", worked in a variety of stitches in shades of blue, green, brown, yellow, and gold, with central verse surrounded by family initials and flanked by floral vines and baskets of flowers, all above a manor house with lawn, fence, and gazebo, 17" x 19 1/2".
