Red Cut-velvet Over-door Hanging, China, early 20th century, rectangular, decorated with a central dragon cradling a flaming pearl, with a smaller panel depicting a pair of confronting dragons above, both bordered by stylized lotus flowers with scrolling foliage, 34 1/2 x 39 in. Provenance: From the estate of Richard Young, Van Hornesville, New York. This collection originally belonged to his stepmother, Louise Powis Brown Young, who had amassed the textiles during the first quarter of the 20th century.
