John (Old Crome) Crome (British, 1768-1821) The Windmill Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 34 1/2 x 42 in. (87.6 x 106.7 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: Acquired from T.J. Blakeslee, Blakeslee Galleries, New York, 1907. A copy of the gallery invoice accompanies the lot. N.B. The present composition is after The Mill (1645/1648) by Rembrandt van Rijn.
