Kesi Tapestry, China, 19th century, woven with the eight Taoist Immortals with attendants in a celestial mountain landscape with pine trees, peach trees, cranes, and pavilions, with further deities scattered amidst clouds, details painted in ink and color, with yellow silk brocade border, kesi panel 58 x 35 in. Provenance: From the estate of Richard Young, Van Hornesville, New York. This collection originally belonged to his stepmother, Louise Powis Brown Young, who had amassed the textiles during the first quarter of the 20th century.
