Hirado Blue and White Water Jar, Japan, 20th century, cylindrical, with rounded shoulder and bottom, depicting a pair of peacocks amongst plums, pines, and bamboo on a ground with auspicious fungus between two borders of stylized ruyi mushrooms on top and double lotus petals to bottom, the interior thickly glazed, unglazed rim, recessed base; with a lacquer cover with loop handle, ht. 8 1/2 in.
