Two-piece Bronze Usubata , Japan, 19th century, the tri-lobed base decorated with ruyi motifs and supported by three curved, elephant-form legs, the side with pierced cartouches on fret ground cast in relief, the tiered, circular top-section cast with stylized mythical beasts on fret-ground reserves, bottom with a lotus blossom in relief, dia. 9 3/4, ht. 7 1/8 in.
