Michel Niellon Batard Montrachet 2000 Cote de Beaune "(with thanks to Douglas Barzelay). Initially there is a hint of reduction but with 10 minutes of aeration, it dissipates to reveal really lovely and beautifully layered aromas that are now displaying moderate secondary influences that also extend to the big, rich and bold medium plus weight flavors that possess solid dry extract that coats the palate on the driving, energetic and still impressively vibrant finish. The balance is impeccable and while there does not appear to be any significant upside remaining, neither is there any rush to drink up as this should continue to effortlessly hold for another 10 to 15 years." Burghound, 93 pts. 10/10 5 bottles
