Large Revival-style Silver Flagon, probably Hanau, Germany, late 19th century, bearing spurious 17th/18th century German marks to interior rim of cover, body near top of handle, and foot-rim, the domed cover surmounted by a lion supporting a shield, repousse-decorated with scenes of putti on a hunt, and amorini thumbpiece, with register of putti masks, scrolling foliage, and tear-shaped lozenges above a slender spiraled body with four protrusions decorated with putti, over swelling lower section with applied dragons to four corners, on pedestal base with four owl-filled niches, with dragon-form handle, ht. 19 1/4 in., approx. 70.6 troy oz.
