Multiple-Portrait Daguerreotype, whole-plate, America, showing five rows of six individual male portraits in oval mounts, in gilt matt and (defective) folding leather case. Note: The subjects are all young men, probably in their late-twenties. Neither their identities nor their occupation is known, although the similarity of age and style of dress makes an early graduating class photograph more likely than a political or military group. It is rare to find multiple daguerreotype portraits; this one was presumably taken from a montage of individual images.
