Pair of Russian Figural . 875 Silver Candlesticks, Moscow, c. 1893, Ovchinnikov, maker, bearing 84 zolotnik standard, assay mark in Cyrillic "L.O/1893" for Lev Fridrikhovitch Oleks, one with a boyar and the other with a boyarina mounted to a naturalistic base beside the knopped baluster stem which is topped by a single narrow sconce above a drip-cup with a pierced strapwork gallery, all raised on stepped and canted rectangular base with beaded registers on four bun feet, ht. 18 in., approx. 133.3 troy oz.
