Monumental Gilt and Marble Figural Mantel Clock, Hemon, Paris, France, c. 1860, a raised pediment with applied leafage and scrollwork ormolu and triptych classical frieze supports a gilt-brass Roman soldier with sword unsheathed standing beside the marble clock pediment and elaborately cast gilt-brass dial with Roman numerals and full-length female figures at the half hour positions, the eight-day time and bell strike spring-powered, pendulum movement stamped Hemon Paris with silk thread suspension and count wheel strike, ht. 35, wd. 28 1/2, dp. 11 in.
