American Militia Coatee, c. 1800, scarlet common broadcloth body and wings with buff twill-woven facings, collar, cuffs and skirt turnbacks, worked false buttonholes on facings, gold metallic cord on wings, turnback hearts, and around upper side vent, with small ball buttons, sleeves lined with plain woven cotton. Note: Found during the 1970s in a home in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
