1936 THIS LOT IS BEING SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE oil on canvas 89 x 69 cm (35 x 27 in. ) signed, titled, and dated on verso Nikolai Matsedonsky (1911-1980) was a Soviet Avant-garde painter, graphic artist and sculptor known primarily for his stage and costume designs. After graduating from in 1932, he was employed as a stage manager by the Kamerny Theater in Moscow. This work is a beautiful portrait of Nataliya Efron, an actress of the Kamerny Theater.
