Emile Galle (French (Nancy), 1846-1904), circa 1900. A signed marquetry inlaid two tier side or occasional table, the quatrefoil top with scalloped edges decorated with Thistle of Lorraine inlaid marquetry, the lower tier with serpentine edges and conforming inlaid thistle marquetry, all raised on four splayed legs. Inlaid mark to table surface "Galle". Approximate height 29", width 28.25", depth 19.75". Provenance: Sotheby's, New York "20th Century Decorative Works of Art", June 12, 1998 whereas sold as part of Lot 171, previously sold through Christie's, New York, March 3, 1994, sale 7844, The Barbara Streisand Sale as Lots 106-107.
